There are some wedding venues that make you want to slow down and take in every detail—and Bella Collina in Montverde, Florida is absolutely one of them.

Nichole and Tim’s spring wedding at Bella Collina was filled with beautiful scenery, meaningful moments, and the kind of timeless elegance that makes this Central Florida wedding venue such a dream for wedding photography. From the rolling hills and lake views to the Tuscan-inspired architecture and countless tucked-away portrait locations, Bella Collina gives couples an incredible amount of variety without ever feeling like they have left the heart of their wedding day.
As a North Carolina and destination wedding photographer, I love traveling for couples who want their wedding photography to feel elevated, intentional, and completely reflective of their experience. Nichole and Tim’s Bella Collina wedding was such a beautiful example of that
Spring in Florida brings its own kind of beauty, and Bella Collina provided the perfect setting for Nichole and Tim’s celebration.
The property feels like an escape from the moment you arrive. With its Tuscan-inspired architecture, stone details, lush landscaping, sweeping views, and beautiful outdoor spaces, there are photo opportunities seemingly everywhere you turn.
For a photographer, that variety is such a gift.
Instead of relying on one backdrop for an entire gallery, we can move throughout the property and create portraits that feel completely different from one another while still telling one cohesive story. Elegant architecture can transition into natural landscapes, open views can transition into intimate corners, and the changing light throughout the day creates another layer of variety.
Bella Collina’s official venue information highlights spaces including the Grand Lawn, Formal Ballroom, Ballroom Veranda, Reflection Pool, and Wine Cellar, giving couples multiple options for creating a wedding day that fits their guest count and vision.

One of my favorite things about photographing a wedding at Bella Collina is simply how much there is to work with.
The property offers sweeping landscape views, Italian Cypress trees, beautiful stone architecture, terraces, courtyards, water views, and indoor spaces that each bring something different to a wedding gallery.
That means your portraits don’t have to feel repetitive.
We can take advantage of the architecture for editorial portraits, find softer landscapes for romantic images, use the property’s expansive views for dramatic photographs, and then find quieter areas for those intimate moments when you just want to be together.
Bella Collina itself describes the property as having multiple scenic options for cocktail hour, ceremonies, and receptions, including the Grand Lawn, Reflection Pool, Wine Cellar, Formal Ballroom, and other spaces throughout the clubhouse grounds.
And from a photography perspective, having so many options on one property allows me to build a gallery with variety while still keeping the images connected to the feeling of the day.

One thing I think is especially appealing about Bella Collina is the flexibility it offers when it comes to guest count.
Sometimes couples assume that choosing a larger wedding venue means sacrificing the intimacy they want for their wedding day. But Bella Collina offers spaces that can accommodate larger celebrations while also providing areas that feel much more intimate.
The Grand Lawn and Formal Ballroom are designed for larger celebrations, while spaces such as the Reflection Pool and Wine Cellar create a much more intimate atmosphere for smaller gatherings. Bella Collina currently lists its Grand Lawn and Formal Ballroom for celebrations of up to 180 guests, with the Reflection Pool accommodating up to 50 and the Wine Cellar up to 30.
That flexibility means your guest list doesn’t have to determine the emotional feeling of your wedding.
You can invite the people who matter most to you—whether that’s a smaller group of your closest friends and family or a much larger celebration—and still create moments that feel personal and connected.
For couples who want a larger wedding without losing that intimate feeling, that’s a beautiful combination.

One of the things I love most about destination weddings is that the setting can feel grand while the moments themselves remain incredibly personal.
And that’s something I always want to preserve in a wedding gallery.
Even on an expansive property like Bella Collina, I want to make sure there are photographs that feel quiet and personal—just the two of you taking a breath together, walking hand in hand, laughing between portraits, or stepping away from the celebration for a few minutes.
The goal isn’t to photograph every beautiful part of the property simply because it’s there.
It’s about using the property intentionally to tell your story.
That might mean incorporating the grand architecture into a few portraits and then finding a quieter corner for something more intimate. It might mean taking advantage of the views during golden hour or stepping away from your guests for a few minutes to have a private moment together.
Those photographs become some of the most meaningful images in your gallery because they aren’t just beautiful—they bring you back to how the day actually felt.

As a North Carolina and destination wedding photographer, I love when a couple chooses a venue that gives their wedding experience a sense of place.
Bella Collina does exactly that.
The Italian-inspired architecture and Central Florida landscape create a destination feel without requiring you to travel internationally. The venue’s own materials describe it as offering the impression of a destination wedding while remaining in the United States.
For couples traveling from North Carolina, other states, or even internationally, that can make Bella Collina an especially beautiful option for a destination wedding.
And when you’re investing in a destination wedding, I believe your photography should capture more than the individual details.
Your gallery should capture the experience—the architecture, landscape, people, movement, emotions, and little moments that made your wedding unique to you.

Nichole and Tim’s spring wedding at Bella Collina was a beautiful reminder that your wedding venue can be both grand and personal.
You can have an expansive guest list and still create intimate moments.
You can have a breathtaking venue and still make the day feel completely about the two of you.
And you can have an entire property filled with beautiful photo opportunities while still creating a gallery that feels authentic rather than overly posed.
That’s what I’m always looking for when I photograph a wedding: the balance between timeless portraits and genuine moments.
